I am continuing to discuss food, family and preparedness on my
new website www.SallysKitchen.com
January 17, 2000
I am thrilled to be able to take a hot shower each day. I rejoice that Y2K at the rollover was pretty much a non-event. I do not regret sounding the alarm. The risk was real. We are
prepared for just about any emergency and plan to keep a high level of preparedness.
Y2K is not over yet. There are still accounting problems showing up. The possibility of an oil shortage is not over. Still, so far, the news is much better than I expected it to be. I hope
the good news contiues.
We are enjoying the pleasant heat from our woodstove while we brainstorm about where to go from here.
We welcome any suggestions or advice.

I will not test any more recipes before the rollover. First: I am scrambling to get our last minute
preparations finished. Second: I don't want to deplete my family's supply of non-perishable food.

Welcome, new readers. Please start preparing now.
To my regular readers: If you aren't well underway with your preparations, please, please get started. Do whatever you are able to do, as soon as you can. There isn't much time left. Please
don't be part of the problem by waiting until the last minute.

There have been many open letters back and forth on a listserv. The open letter to Greespan
began there. Letters to and from Mr. Koskinen appeared also.
Ray wrote this letter to the members of the listserv group. Please read it. It is important.

I've been busy getting the book ready (so those without Internet can get good information).
Ray and I also attended the meeting listed below. I have some more recipes that I will put on the site in a few days.

They sold Pet Rocks. Why can't we sell Y2K? Y2K is a looming menace and most people think that
"everything is OK." Well, it isn't! More and more people write to me, discouraged because the people they love will not prepare for Y2K. If you have been successful in convincing people (friends,
neighbors, relatives, strangers) to prepare for Y2, please tell us how you did it. I want success stories.
Visit my new forum on how to convince others about Y2K.

You've decided. The consensus is that I should put the infomation into a book. I've got the first
draft finished. I still have a lot more work to do but it's coming along. I also will speak for a fee if anyone wants to pay to listen.
